The Dot Experience marks a new chapter in American Printing House’s (APH) more than 165 years of history by bringing 28,000 square feet of barrier-free, immersive exhibition space to life. Designed to be the most inclusive museum in the world, here, we imagine a future without barriers, where every person is able to reach their fullest potential.
It’s a journey into what it means to be human, driven by the mission to change perspectives about blindness and inspire action toward a world that welcomes everyone.

Every exhibit reflects more than 165 years of collaboration, discovery and a commitment to expanding opportunity for everyone.
From the very first sketch, The Dot Experience has been designed with—not just for—people of all abilities. Led by APH’s Inclusive Prototyping Team, the museum has been shaped by the voices and perspectives of individuals who are blind, low vision, Deafblind, neurodiverse, wheelchair users, guide-dog users, and more. The outcome? A space built for independent exploration, where every visitor can choose their own path and do so freely.

Nearly 89 million people in the U.S. live with a disability, including approximately 7 million people living with vision loss. Yet many people who are blind or low vision will tell you that blindness itself is not the greatest obstacle. Too often, it’s the low expectations, inaccessible environments, and assumptions that limit full participation.
