The Dot Experience is opening October 2026
The black and white photos shows Helen Keller and her translator talking with two men. The men are wearing military uniforms and both women are wearing dresses and hats. Helen has her hand on one gentleman's face, feeling the outline of his lips, and is smiling.

The collections that power our progress

The American Printing House (APH) Archival Collection preserves three major categories of works created by people who are blind or low vision. Displayed throughout The Dot Experience, these collections connect you to research, tools, and resources that have advanced access and education for millions of people living with blindness or low vision.

  • The M.C. Migel Memorial Collection: In honor of philanthropist Moses Charles Migel—a visionary advocate who helped establish the American Foundation for the Blind (AFB) in 1921 and served as its first president.
  • The APH Research and Professional Development Collection: Curated by APH staff, educators, and innovators, this collection supports ongoing learning and advancement in the field of blindness and low vision—serving as a cornerstone for future breakthroughs in access, technology, and inclusion.
  • The Blind Musicians Collection: The only known archive dedicated to preserving works of music by musicians who are blind or low vision, regardless of genre, period, or notoriety. It features works from 130 artists and 350 albums, accessible through a Spotify playlist.
