NZ Roots Behind a US Museum Visionary
Jo Haas is leading a groundbreaking effort to transform inclusive design in museums through the development of The Dot Experience, an interactive attraction opening in 2026 in Louisville, Kentucky that prioritizes touch, sensory engagement, and accessibility for blind and low-vision visitors. The museum, developed in partnership with the American Printing House for the Blind, will feature hands-on exhibits, tours of braille production, and educational storytelling centered on disability inclusion. Haas credits her formative childhood years in New Zealand for shaping her values of empathy, community, and accessibility, which continue to inspire her mission to reimagine public spaces.
