The Dot Experience Opens Its Doors: A Week of Connection, Community, and Change

The Dot Experience is now open! The world's most inclusive museum, The Dot Experience, features exhibits, artifacts, and stories built to change perspectives and empower individual action toward a world that welcomes everyone. This week, we brought The Dot Experience to the community, as we prepared for the museum’s grand opening through local events and attractions.
Kicking the week off, Sunday evening was full of laughter as The Dot Experience cast member and award-winning comedian Bhavya Shah treated the community to his comedic talent along with local comedian, Lane Glaze. We continued the celebration on Monday with a cooking demonstration by cast member, restaurateur, author and MasterChef winner, Christine Ha.
Later Monday evening, guests participated in dinners hosted by The Dot Experience cast at various restaurants throughout Louisville. Attendees enjoyed intimate conversations that dispelled myths and underscored hurdles, leaving an impact with guests that equipped them to become agents of change.

The community came together to celebrate Tuesday for an unforgettable evening at The Dot Experience launch party. Guests enjoyed performances from award-winning artist and disability advocate Lachi, as well as short sets from Latin American artist, Precious Perez. Those in attendance had the opportunity to meet other Dot Experience cast members, including Christine Ha, Joe Strechay, Kathy Martinez, Patrick Henry Hughes, Anthony Ferraro, Denna Lambert and more.
On Wednesday, guests joined cast members Anthony Ferraro and Dan Mancina, alongside local skate shop, Home, for free community skateboarding at Sprak Skatepark. Dan and Anthony connected with kids and adults from Louisville and beyond, in addition to giving a killer skate demo.

Guests gathered outside the doors of The Dot Experience on Friday as we heard from Jo Haas, Chief Operating Officer and VP, Advancement & The Dot Experience, students at the Kentucky School for the Blind (KSB), Liz Pratt, Sr. Director Communications and Corporate Responsibility LGE & KU and more as they shared their excitement for The Dot Experience.
The Dot Experience is excited to welcome everyone – we invite you to explore stories of blindness through touch, challenge misconceptions and empower action.
